Richmond has broken Malvern’s string of victories in our annual Richmond versus Malvern Tan Challenge. Richmond won the 30th race by a solitary point, bringing their total to 14 to Malvern’s 16.

Richmond were taking no chances with many of their their fastest runners attending with Anthony Aloisio being fastest over the 8km in a time of 26:50. Richmond took the first four places until Damien Bertram arrived in fifth place in 29:57. Tracey Austin took home another Tan Challenge medal by running the women’s fastest time of 30:23. With a strong midfield, Malvern were able to rein in most of Richmond’s lead but it was not quite enough.

It was great to have 24 of our athletes competing which bodes well for the forthcoming XCR season.
