Lake Wendouree Was A Breeze

Tracey Austin finished fourth overall at Lake Wendouree

Malvern had a good outing in Ballarat, with nineteen Harriers competing in the road race around Lake Wendouree. Cold and windy conditions made for a tough day, but our athletes still posted some very good times. Both open men and women competed together in the 15km race.

Our fastest run of the day was from David Jimenez (representing Box Hill) who ran 52:03, who was closely followed by Shaun Green in 52:07. The rematch in round 5 at Albert Park could be a classic.

Next home was Tracey Austin who finished fourth overall, with the amazing time of 54:02.

John Williams (57:13) was again first in the 60+ category and has a good chance of winning the points competition. Nicki Macfarlane (1:04:39) and Colette Hanlon (1:10:24) were eight and tenth in there respective age categories.

In the junior 5km race, Sophia Hanlon ran a very good 23:02 to finish in 8th place competing against older girls in the under 14 category.
